Meet the counselorS
Hi! My name is Beth Hinshaw and I am one of the school counselors here at Indian Trail Elementary School. I grew up in Georgia and attended Berry College in Rome, GA where I studied psychology, family studies and religion. I received my Masters in Education in School Counseling in 2010 from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. At that time, my husband and I wanted to travel so we moved to Daegu, South Korea to teach English. Once there, I began my school counseling career when I started working as a school counselor in 2012. I worked for Daegu American School, a preschool-8th grade elementary and middle school in the U.S. Army Garrison Daegu. I returned to live in the U.S. in 2015 where I worked in Springfield, Ohio as the school counselor at Perrin Woods Elementary School. In 2017, my family moved to Columbus and I began working for Canal Winchester Local Schools. The past two years I've served on the Ohio School Counseling Association Board of Directors as an Emerging Leader. I love being a school counselor and I feel grateful every day to have the opportunity to work with the students and families of Indian Trail.

Hi! My name is Brett Kodger and I am one of the school counselors at Indian Trail Elementary School. I graduated from Gahanna Lincoln HS and attended The Ohio State where I received a bachelor's in Human Ecology. I went on to use this degree to be a social worker at Franklin County Children Services for 5 years until the love for the classroom became too overwhelming to ignore. I then attended the University of Dayton and became licensed as a School Counselor in 2017. I come from Columbus City Schools where I worked at the elementary level for the past 5 years. I am very excited and privileged to be working with you Parents and Guardians, alongside our amazing IES staff to support our students.
