School Psychologist
As the school psychologist, it is my job to identify and evaluate students with special needs, and lead preventative efforts to provide academic support for students who are struggling within the general education setting. I collaborate with the school counselor to screen our building population for behavioral concerns and select students for appropriate interventions. I also participate in ongoing team meetings to review the progress of these interventions and serve as a liaison between the building-based team and the district leadership team that is working to develop expectations associated with the CW Portrait of a Graduate. Together with Mrs. Hinshaw, I provide social-emotional support for students, such as development, facilitation and monitoring of individualized behavior plans, and analysis of behavioral patterns. Key stakeholders, including NCH therapists, building administration, intervention specialists, and behavior specialists work with us to refine and track plans for students, provide insight into a child's life and development, and link academic and behavioral interventions. I also lead the district's crisis prevention and intervention training series, which provides specific skills for de-escalating crisis situations in a safe manner.

Behavior Analyst
As a Behavior Analyst, I work as part of the school team to identify and target students' maladaptive behaviors. Once those behaviors are identified, I work with the team to develop strategies and interventions to decrease the behaviors of concern to improve socially significant behaviors. Teaching strategies and interventions are evidence based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Additionally, I help aid teachers in data collection methods to monitor ongoing intervention effectiveness, provide coaching and support for behavior intervention plan implementation and general consultation on environmental and teaching strategies to help students overall educational success.
